Sunday’s sermon at Wilkesboro Baptist is from Joshua 7 entitled “Be Sure Your Sin Will Find You Out.” Our current series is “More Grace: How God’s Interventions Make it Possible to Follow Him.” We’ve been exploring the gracious ways God intervened as Israel left Egypt and wandered in the wilderness toward the Promised Land.
- Pray against the two major sins found in Joshua 7 (self-reliance and self-obsession).
- Pray for church elders, staff, and deacons to rely on God and not on self.
- Pray for any and all of us to be convicted regarding self-obsession and to deny ourselves and follow Christ.
- Pray that sinners would be warned, convicted, and repentant.
- Pray that Christians would seek the Lord and rely on him only.
Here is how you can prepare for worshiping with us on Sunday at Wilkesboro Baptist. Read Joshua 6 and 7 and compare Israel’s victory at Jericho with her defeat at Ai. Reflection questions: Why did Achan take what was forbidden? How did it affect the nation? What did it cost him?
