Sunday September 6 begins a new sermon series entitled: “Word and Witness: Vision of the King from the Book of Revelation.”
God did not give us the book of Revelation to confuse us but to encourage us. My hope in this series is for believers to witness and experience the greatness, grace, and glory of Jesus Christ.
Our text for this Sunday is Revelation 1:1-8. In preparation for Sunday, September 6, read Revelation 1. Read as much of the book of Revelation as you are able looking only for images and visions of Jesus in the book. Reflect on this question. What does the church need to understand about Jesus from the visions and images in the book of Revelation?
Prayers for this Sunday:
- Pray that we will see the glory of Christ and the sovereignty of the Triune God in the midst of trials and tribulations.
- Pray for sinners to receive the salvation and freedom offered through the death of Christ.
- Pray for believers to experience the blessings of redemption in Christ.
- Pray for listeners during this sermon series to be encouraged through the book of Revelation.
- Pray that we would be appropriately burdened for our neighbors and the nations regarding the return of Jesus.
For those of you in Wilkes, I invite you to worship with us during this series. Bring a friend as we study this wonderful book of the Bible. For those of you who attend other churches or are not in Wilkes, you are welcome to follow along with us at Wilkesboro Baptist through our media.
May God bless us as we read, listen, and learn from the book of Revelation.
